Resting Scripture
"If you watch your step on the Sabbath and don't use my holy day for personal advantage, If you treat the Sabbath as a day of joy, God's holy day as a celebration, If you honor it by refusing 'business as usual,' making money, running here and there - Then you'll be free to enjoy God! Oh, I'll make you ride high and soar above it all. I'll make you feast on the inheritance of your ancestor Jacob." Yes! God says so! Isaiah 58:13-14
Reflection
God created the Sabbath for believers, His sons and daughters. He had those who would call Him Lord with a sincere and believing heart on His mind when He sat aside this day of rest. He is calling us to rest with Him today. He is inviting you to open your heart, spirit, mine and soul to Him. He is inviting you to seek Him afresh. Come to His holy tabernacle and enter His Presence. God is beckoning you to draw nearer, to avail yourself of His wisdom and knowledge, to know Him, to experience Him in new ways. The veil is gone; Jesus ripped it down more than 2000 years ago so you would have no blockage. He opens the way and through Him you may enter the most Holy of Holies. Through Christ you will find rest for your weary soul. All your cares here you can cast.
The Sabbath is a quiet place where you can empty yourself and once you are empty God will pour into you; He will fill you with Living Waters. He will enable you to bear lasting fruit. When you enter a Sabbath Rest God pours, and pours until you leave filled with whatever you need. The Sabbath is where your Spirit can commune with God and leave refreshed and restored; where strength is gained, and peace is obtained. True Sabbath is the place where God begins to prepare shape and mold us for His will. Resting in God brings filling, blessings and joy overflowing. Yes! God says so!
